Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is used for acute and chronic pain as well as post-operative pain. Many have found the Erchonia laser to be an integral part of the healing process from post surgery pain, and many other ailments, Cold laser therapy causes tissues to heal faster – muscle, skin and nerve – 66% faster according to a double blind FDA study.
How does it work?
Low Level Laser Therapy works so well because it goes to work at the cellular level. Unlike heat lasers, which are used in surgery to cut problem tissue, the cold laser does not generate heat and destroy tissue; instead it stimulates healing. Human cells produce a chemical known as ATP, to run the body and heal tissue. All of our body’s activities result from the use of ATP; it’s like gasoline to a car. LLLT stimulates a micro-structure within the cells called the mitochondria to produce higher amounts of ATP, which causes faster tissue healing, reduced inflammation, and decreased pain.
